FRANCINE GRAVEL BIOGRAPHIE Francine Gravel est née à Montréal le 17 mars 1944. Elle a étudié à l'École des beaux-arts de Montréal sous la direction d'Albert Dumouchel et de Pierre Ayot et a obtenu un diplôme en peinture et en gravure en 1965. Elle a ensuite obtenu un certificat d'enseignement en 1966 et a enseigné au Québec et en Ontario dans plusieurs écoles et centres d'art. De 1967 à 1969, elle a voyagé en Europe, travaillant surtout en Belgique. À son retour au Canada, elle a travaillé à Toronto avant de déménager à Calgary, où elle a enseigné à l'Alberta College of Art à Calgary jusqu'en 1976. Elle a ensuite obtenu un poste d'enseignement à l'Université Concordia de 1976 à 1977 avant de déménager cette fois-ci à Vancouver, où elle a vécu et travaillé jusqu'en 1986. C'est à ce moment qu'elle a décidé de s'établir dans la vallée de l'Okanagan en Colombie-Britannique, où elle a installé son studio permanent. Depuis 1978, elle se consacre exclusivement à la peinture, la gravure et la poésie.
