Dare to Dream

Some people only look at life through eyes that seldom gleam
While others look beyond today
As they are guided by a dream
And the dreamers cannot be sidetracked
 by dissenters who may laugh
For only they alone can know
How special is their path
But dreams are not captured easily
There’s much work before they are through
But the time and efforts are all worthwhile
When the impossible comes true.
And dreams have strength in numbers
For when a common goal is shared
The once impossible comes true for all of those who cared
And once it is seen reality a dream has just begun
For magically from dreams come dreams
And a walk becomes a run
But with that growth come obstacles
And with obstacles comes fear
But the dream that is worth dreaming
Finds its way into the clear
And the dream continues growing
Reaching heights before unseen
And it is all because of the courage of the dreamers and their dreams.

One and Only You

Every single blade of grass,
And every flake of snow—
Is just a wee bit different,
There’s no two alike, you know.

From something small, like grains of sand,
To each gigantic star
All were made with THIS in mind:
To be just what they are!

How foolish then, to imitate—
How useless to pretend!
Since each of us comes from a MIND
Whose ideas never end.

There’ll only be just ONE of ME
To show what I can do—
And you should likewise feel very proud,
There’s only ONE of YOU.
James T. Moore

Comfort Zone

I used to have a comfort zone, where I knew I could not fail.
The same four walls and busy work, were really more like jail.
I longed so much to do the things I'd never done before,
But I stayed inside my comfort zone and paced the same old floor.

I said it didn't matter, that I wasn't doing much.
I said I didn't care for things like diamonds, cars and such.
I claimed to be so busy with the things inside my zone.
But deep inside, I longed, for some victory of my own.

I couldn't let my life go by, just watching others win.
I held my breath and stepped outside to let the change begin.
I took a step, with a strain I'd never felt before,
I kissed my comfort zone goodbye and closed and locked the door.

If you are in a comfort zone, afraid to venture out,
Remember that all winners at one time were filled with doubt.
A step or two and words of praise can make your dreams come true.
So greet your future with a smile, SUCCESS IS THERE FOR YOU!

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves,
Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

The Poverty Class talk about and regurgitate the past
The Middle Class talk about other people
The World Class talk about ideas!

You are always a valuable, worthwhile human being, not because
anybody says so, not because you're successful, not because you
make a lot of money, but because you decide to believe it and
 for no other reason.

 *Dr. Wayne Dyer

When riches begin to come they
Come so quickly, in such great abundance, that one
Wonders where they have been hiding during all

Recognize, Release and Replace

Recognize those ideas that you were given from birth to age six
Placed uncritically in your subconscious, which you can choose to fix!

Release those thoughts, and let them go!
Replace them with something youreally know!

Here are some words that they would say
That may have caused you to eat this way

“Kids are starving in _____, now clean your plate!”
You’ll be sure to gain some weight!

“If you want dessert, first clean your plate!”
An overweight body is your fate!

Replace those ideas that your parents fed you
With healthier words -- perhaps some of these might do!

When I leave some food on my plate
I know that I will release some weight

I love my body; I am like an expensive car
If I put that in my tank – I won’t go far!

I eat food for energy, health and nutrition too!
To all those extra pounds, I’ll bid adieu!

I control what I eat and feel so proud
I want to scream and yell out loud!

Recognize, Release and Replace is the clue
I changed my thinking and my body too!!

A Tribute to my Auntie Ellie
2-25-06
There is emptiness in the world today
‘Cause Auntie Ellie has gone away
She left her mark as I knew she would
She touched more lives than most people could

Always a sweet smile and caring concern
There was so much about life from her to learn
Never harsh words could anyone recall
She was a model lady who impacted us all

Never would she criticize, condemn or complain
Most of us never even knew of her pain

She entertained with ease and I’d like to stress
She did it from love and not to impress
She passed that and more qualities on to Annie B
As everyone who knows her can clearly see

She was so grateful and satisfied with every single thing
For over 65 years, she wore the same ring.
Each of us has our own memories to share
We honor her by the stories and smiles we wear

She wouldn’t want anyone to wallow or stew
She’d like us to do things we normally do
Play bridge, canasta or poker – and have fun
You all have families and work to be done

She would want us to make the most of each day
Not waste them with tears, now wipe them away
The rain is sprinkling on this February day
I truly believe it’s a sign that she is okay.

With teens it takes at least four compliments to make up for the damage one criticism does. Yes I said damage. There is no such thing as constructive criticism. It is all hurtful and destructive to good feelings. Think how you feel when you are criticized. It feels bad - Jack M. Zufelt

ANYBODY can WISH
for riches, and most
people do, but only a few
know that a definite plan,
plus a BURNING DESIRE
for wealth, are the only
dependable means of
accumulating wealth. -- Napoleon Hill

Curious how we acquire wisdom!

Over and Over again, the same truth is thrust under our very noses

we encounter it in action

we are admonished of it

we read it in the written word

We suffer the experience; we gradually assent to the advice

we approve, intellectually, the written word.

But nothing happens inside us.

Then, one day,

some trivial experience or word or encounter stops us short

A gleam of illumination penetrates the depth of our consciousness

We see!

Usually it is but a glimpse;

but on rare occasions a brilliant flash reveals truth fully formed

And we marvel that this understanding escaped us so long."

Stewart Edward White and Harwood White

Ultimately, man should not ask what the meaning of his life is,

but rather must recognize that it is he who is asked.

In a word, each man is questioned by life;

and he can only answer to life by answering for his own life;

to life he can only respond by being responsible." - Victor Frankl
