One and Only YOU!
James T Moore

Every single blade of grass
and every flake of snow
Is just a wee bit different
There’s no two alike you know

From something small like gains of sand
To each gigantic star
all were made with this in mind to be just what they are
How foolish then to imitate
How useless to pretend

Since each of us comes from a mind
Who’s ideas never end
There’ll only be just one of me to show what I can do
And you should likewise be VERY PROUD
There’s only one of you!
James T. Moore

Comfort Zone
Author Unknown

I used to have a comfort zone, where I knew I could not fail.

The same four walls and busy work, were really more like jail.

I longed so much to do the things I’d never done before,

But I stayed inside my comfort zone and paced the same old floor.

I said it didn’t matter, that I wasn’t doing much.

I said I didn’t care for things like diamonds, cars and such.

I claimed to be so busy with the things inside my zone.

But deep inside, I longed, for some victory of my own. I couldn’t let my life go by, just watching others win.

I held my breath and stepped outside to let the change begin.

I took a step, with a strain I’d never felt before,

I kissed my comfort zone goodbye and closed and locked the door.

If you are in a comfort zone, afraid to venture out,

Remember that all winners at one time were filled with doubt.

A step or two and words of praise can make your dreams come true.

So greet your future with a smile, SUCCESS IS THERE FOR YOU!

Secret Thoughts

Ella Wilcox 1855-1919

“I hold it true that thoughts are things;

they’re endowed with bodies and breath and wings

And that we send them forth to fill

the world with good results, or ill.

That which we call our secret thought

Speeds forth to earth’s remotest spot,

Leaving its blessings or its woes

Like tracks behind it as it goes.

We build our future, thought by thought,

For good or ill, yet know it not.

Yet so the universe was wrought.

Thought is another name for fate;

Choose then thy destiny and wait,

For love brings love and hate brings hate.”

Curious how we acquire wisdom!

Over and Over again, the same truth is thrust under our very noses

we encounter it in action

we are admonished of it

we read it in the written word

We suffer the experience; we gradually assent to the advice

we approve, intellectually, the written word.

But nothing happens inside us.

Then, one day,

some trivial experience or word or encounter stops us short

A gleam of illumination penetrates the depth of our consciousness

We see!

Usually it is but a glimpse;
but on rare occasions a brilliant flash reveals truth fully formed

And we marvel that this understanding escaped us so long.”

Winner vs Loser

by: Author Unknown, Source Unknown

The Winner is always part of the answer;

The Loser is always part of the problem.

The Winner is always has a program;

The Loser always has an excuse.

The Winner says,”Let me do it for you;

The Loser says;” That is not my job.”

The Winner sees an answer for every problem;

The Loser sees a problem for every answer.

The Winner says,” It may be difficult but it is possible”;

The Loser says,”It may be possible but it is too difficult.”

When a Winner makes a mistake, he says,” I was wrong”;

When a Loser makes a mistake, he says,” It wasn’t my fault.”

A Winner makes commitments;

A Loser makes promises.

Winners have dreams;

Loser have schemes.

Winners say,” I must do something”;

Losers say,”Something must be done.”

Winners are a part of the team;

Losers are apart from the team.

Winners see the gain;

Losers see the pain.

Winners see possibilities;

Losers see problems.

Winners believe in win/win; Losers believe for them to win someone has to lose.

Winners see the potential;

Losers see the past.

Winners are like a thermostat;

Losers are like thermometers.

Winners choose what they say;

Losers say what they choose.

Winners use hard arguments but soft words;

Losers use soft arguments but hard words.

Winners stand firm on values but compromise on petty things;

Losers stand firm on petty things but compromise on values.

Winners follow the philosophy of empathy: “Don’t do to others what you

would, not want them to do to you”;

Losers follow the philosophy, “Do it to others before they do it to you.”

Winners make it happen;

Losers let it happen.

The Lights Seem Brighter

Jan Payne (12-03)

Christmas is a holiday for kids of all ages

People often spend at least two weeks wages

The lights seem brighter before Christmas Day

The energy is higher in most every way

Anticipation, expectations for material things to appear

It seems to embellish this time of the year

The shopping is fun and the houses look pretty

Most everything is lit up in the entire city

We’ve asked lots of questions and shopped for the best

We’re hopeful our presents will pass their test

The joy of giving is really a spiritual pleasure

It is psychic income and it’s hard to measure

Remember the cycle of giving is only complete

When the person receiving doesn’t ask for a receipt

Beautiful packages spread under the tree

Each kid is wondering which one is for me?

Excitement is building as the paper is torn

Their joy is measured by the expression that’s worn

We can tell if they’re happy disappointed or sad

We can tell if our choice was a good one or bad

So keep this is mind as you open your box

Even if it is only a pair of unmatched sox

Year End Poem 2010 – Jan Payne

It is time to celebrate the 1st day of 2010

So please get ready with paper and pen

Write out 101 things that you really want to do

it will accelerate your achievements, this much is true

Create a vision of where you’d like to be

Dreams are important for you and for me

Think and Grow Rich is what we are told

We should learn to think before we get too old!

“Most people don’t think.” Earl Nightingale said.

“They’d be speechless if they whispered what they had in their head.”

Successful people write goals four times a year.

Let’s make a decision to trade action for fear.

Right now sit down with your paper and pen

If you are thinking I’ll do it later…please think again!

Get your emotions involved and let your thoughts flow

Change is inevitable, now ready, set, go!

Decide to make good choices again and again

Then you will have a happy healthy and prosperous 2010

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves,

Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine, as children do.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God

that is within us.

It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” by Marianne Williamson

Ability may get you to the top,

but it takes character to keep you there.” – John Wooden

A Man Needs to Know

A man needs to know that he’s bad and he’s good,
He can be what he hopes, he can be understood.
A man needs to feel he can conquer a fall,
For a man who can kneel has the strength to stand tall.

A man needs to know he can share and confide,
Even though he’s frightened way down deep inside.
For sometimes a man must sink terribly low,
Before he discovers how high he can go.

A man needs to know at the end of his rope,
He can handle his fears, he can build on his hope.
A man must believe he can change when he must,
He can learn to receive, he can learn how to trust.

And why must a man feel afraid and alone,
When each of us has the same fears of his own.
For sometimes a man must sink terribly low,
Before he discovers how high he can go.

A man has to live when it’s painful to try,
For a man needs to laugh and a man needs to cry.
A man has a need to strive and prevail,
He must learn to succeed and find out why he failed.

To carry his crown and to fill-up his cup,
Sometimes he drops down so that he can reach up.
For sometimes a man must sink terribly low,
Before he discovers how high he can go.

C. W. Longenecker

If you think you are beaten, you are,

If you think you dare not, you don’t

If you like to win, but you think you can’t,

It is almost certain you won’t.

“If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost

For out of the world we find,

Success begins with a fellow’s will—

It’s all in the state of mind.

“If you think you are outclassed, you are,

You’ve got to think high to rise,

You’ve got to be sure of yourself before

You can ever win a prize.

“Life’s battles don’t always go

To the stronger or faster man,

But soon or late the man who wins

Is the man WHO THINKS HE CAN!”

You are always a valuable, worthwhile human being, not because

anybody says so, not because you’re successful, not because you

make a lot of money, but because you decide to believe it and

for no other reason. –   Dr. Wayne Dyer

When riches begin to come they

Come so quickly, in such great abundance, that one

wonders where they have been hiding during all those lean years – Napoleon Hill

Let us not look back in anger,

Nor forward in fear,

But around us in awareness.

–Leland Val Van De Wall

Lack and limitation can only exist when we make room for them in our mind.

- Bob Proctor

ANYBODY can WISH

for riches, and most

people do, but only a few

know that a definite plan,

plus a BURNING DESIRE

for wealth, are the only

dependable means of

accumulating wealth.

Napoleon Hill

Any idea that is held in the mind

that is either feared or revered will,

Andrew Carnegie

Ultimately, man should not ask what the meaning of his life is,

but rather must recognize that it is he who is asked.

In a word, each man is questioned by life;

and he can only answer to life by answering for his own life;

to life he can only respond by being responsible.” – Victor Frankl

Integrity

Jan Payne (4-21-2010)

Recently I experienced a troubling time

A man I respected and trusted crossed the line

He promised to help with something we believed it was real

But then mid-stream he threw a curve and pulled out of the deal

Be without guile no matter what you do

Step outside and think it through

We each have our choices every day

Tell no white lies and don’t delay

Money is the root of all evil is what they preach

Love people and use money is what I teach

For character is revealed in times of trial

With a person of integrity there is no denial

When life falls apart as it often does

Before taking action be sure to pause

Think about what is right and true

Think about how this would truly affect you

If no money was involved what would you choose

This is the very same method that you should use

Speak only the truth and be a good friend

Then your integrity you won’t have to defend

This little poem is short and sweet

when it comes to moms YOU can’t be beat

You’ve got a place for everything and this is true

She has a special place in her heart for each one of you!

Your wisdom in words are often expressed

Most everyone you meet is duly impressed.

If you have an ache or a pain you won’t tell

You put a smile on your face and say “oh well!”

The doctor looks at you and then at your chart

He insists there is no way that you are an old fart

Please share your secrets and continue to do

The very same things that have worked so well you for you

Today is your birthday and you requested no fuss;

You know that is the wrong thing to say to us

Leon and Gaby said, “we wanted to do this for you’

So  please enjoy this day, your family and friends too

With much gratitude for all that you are!

We love you mom, YOU are our STAR!!

Jan Payne (4-18-2010)

This version, often called “Do Good” or “Do Good Anyway”, is found on the wall in the home for children that Mother Teresa established in Calcutta. The Original Version called “The Paradoxical Commandments,” was written by Dr. Kent M. Keith as part of a piece for student leaders.

People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway.

What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway.

Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway.

In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.

Mother Teresa as taken from

The Paradoxical Commandments

by Dr. Kent M. Keith

A new concept to come up with new ideas each day?

Try it and you will see that spirit takes you away

With love and gratitude expecting them to come

You may be in the shower, driving or even taking a run

Record them in some manner – essential it’s true

Whether on paper or recorder that is up to you

Look all around you and know that it is a fact

Before it was manifested – someone experienced lack

Is there a better way – is a great question to ask

Have you looked at the symbol on the fed-ex box?

Do you see an arrow? There is no arrow you declare

You look at this logo – you look everywhere!

If you see what you believe and not what it is true

The answers might be hiding right in front of you!

Once I tell you where it is hidden – you will know

And share it with others – a key to grow

Did you look between the “X” and the “E”?

The arrow is there! YES! Now I see!

With new ideas the concept is exactly the same

This isn’t bologna – it isn’t a game

Think of a chair that you are sitting in now

Before it was a chair – some simply asked how

Consider the comfort of a rock, a stump or a tree

Your butt could be hurting, a clue given to thee

Discomfort is one indication given to you

It is up to you to be aware and act on the clue

Not everyone gets the same bit of news

Not everyone has the same point of views

Education in different areas — opens your mind

Awareness is the key – that will help you find

Look all around you in every nook and cranny

You must take action – get off your fanny

You are very special – know that is true

There is only one creature that is just like you

As you look at the firsts of anything that’s been done

Passion and desire are forces like the sun

We always take note of the actions first done

Thinking at first this isn’t much fun

Or somebody said there is no possible way

What would it take to make this the day?

Roger Banister with burnt legs broke the four minute mile

He did it with confidence spirit and smile

Once people knew it was possible too

It was no big deal – and that is your clue

Look near, on, over, above, under, in, around, by and through

Look beyond your idea until you see the millions it offers you.

Once something is created for sure

Belief is easy – it is not even a chore

Inductive reasoning was given to you

Taking action is what you must do!

When the Wright Brothers decided a machine could fly

They looked for solutions – continuing to ask why

Failures were simply ways that didn’t work

They continued to search for any little quirk

Words that are now go from keyboard and screen in a flow

Are coming from higher power and this I truly know

The credit for each and every word is not mine

As long as it is shared with you – I am totally fine

I love when I write things and then with surprise get to read

The words that began with one little seed

A thought that was given to me for the ride

Enjoying the treasure with all kinds of pride

Thank you – in advance for the ideas on this page

Thank you for showing me to be so sage

No longer trading money for time

No longer a victim, complain or whine

Look near, on, over, above, under, in, around, by and through

Look beyond your idea until you see the millions it offers you.

Think of the computer, the iPod, the mouse

The pool or the hot tub and even your house

Not enough room on this little floor?

Add another and maybe a door!

What are you working on and what do you do?

What would make your life easier? That is a clue

Discontent? Be creative and do not complain

If that is what you do – there is nothing to gain.

What could be done? What else could we do?

These are questions that might work for you!

Look near, on, over, above, under, in, around, by and through

Look beyond your idea until you see the millions it offers you.
