Well it was a sad day in Denver yesterday. The Denver Broncos, whose payroll exceeds $95,599,778 acted more like a bunch of junior high school kids who just flunked a test and were told they could not play. They definitely were playing the VICTIMS. Each of them looked like poor my, why me. Give me a break – These guys are professionals. There is no excuse for BBL (Bad Body Language) and feeling sorry for themselves. Each person should look in the mirror. Take stalk. Be response-able. Be the VICTOR…

There may be no I’s in TEAM….
There may be no I in team, but there’s a M and an E!

The owners of this team have a moral obligation to take action, hire a personal success coach! You have a defensive coach, an offensive coach, now what you require is a thinking coach. These guys had “stinkin thinkin’ – were they even thinking? Most people don’t think. Dr Ken McFarland says,

2% of the population think
3% of the population think they think…
95% would rather DIE than THINK!

In their case I believe they were in the 95% we would rather die than think. Teach them response-ability. If that team could score 14 points in the first 7 minutes of a game – why would you give up?
These guys need a coach who teaches how to think SOLUTIONS! Play! Think! Choose to be the VICTOR!

DON’T GIVE UP…
Don’t Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow–
You may succeed with another blow,
Success is failure turned inside out–
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit–
It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.

- Edgar A. Guest

This morning, I spent a good deal of time searching for this story about self confidence. I searched my computer, the Bob Proctor site and Googled words that I thought would retrieve the correct story. The computer does the search and cannot think – it just does a series of yes, no, file not found! I begin to think that I am missing something. I was searching for Bob Proctor story, Rockefeller and check for $500,000 and that returned a gazillion links…but none were the one for which I was searching .

And then…I remembered the words ‘park bench’ and Rockefeller – hooray! You know, when you have the right tools, or the right words…the computer responds every time, all the time, no exceptions. Author Unknown…

A business executive was deep in debt and could see no way out. Creditors were closing in on him. Suppliers were demanding payment. He sat on the park bench , head in hands, wondering if anything could save his company from bankruptcy.

Suddenly an old man appeared before him. “I can see that something is troubling you,” he said. After listening to the executive’s woes, the old man said, “I believe I can help you.” He asked the man his name, wrote out a check, and pushed it into his hand saying, “Take this money. Meet me here exactly one year from today, and you can pay me back at that time.” Then he turned and disappeared as quickly as he had come.

The business executive saw in his hand a check for $500,000, signed by John D. Rockefeller, then one of the richest men in the world! “I can erase my money worries in an instant!” he realized. But instead, the executive decided to put the un-cashed check in his safe. Just knowing it was there might give him the strength to work out a way to save his business, he thought.

With renewed optimism, he negotiated better deals and extended terms of payment. He closed several big sales. Within a few months, he was out of debt and making money once again. Exactly one year later, he returned to the park with the un- cashed check. At the agreed-upon time, the old man appeared. But just as the executive was about to hand back the check and share his success story, a nurse came running up and grabbed the old man.

“I’m so glad I caught him!” she cried. “I hope he hasn’t been bothering you. He’s always escaping from the rest home and telling people he’s John D. Rockefeller. ” And she led the old man away by the arm. The astonished executive just stood there, stunned. All year long he’d been wheeling and dealing, buying and selling, convinced he had half a million dollars behind him.

Suddenly, he realized that it wasn’t the money, real or imagined, that had turned his life around. It was his new-found self-confidence that gave him the power to achieve anything he went after.

Faith in yourself will allow you to have whatever you want – I love this story.

Today was an eye-opener for me. It began with a huge surprise from my honey. After almost 10 years together, he amazed me. I had a 7 am meeting in my office on my computer with Jim and Dr Mike. I actually was running late so grabbed my DNA drink and proceeded with the meeting. Around 8:15 am, I smelled coffee. Now I knew I didn’t make it and it smelled wonderful. You know the old Maxwell House commercial? Then my senses were aroused again by the smell of toast. Now this was unusual, I thought. He doesn’t make toast I wonder what is burning. His ritual is cereal and then coffee with something sweet (other than me) …

Then he usually just waves goodbye as he leaves.

Not today.

Today, he climbed up the stairs to my office in the loft carrying a cup of coffee and a small plate with a buttered bagel on it. Still, I was thinking that he was going into the other room to eat it. Then he walked toward my desk and placed it in front of me. ”For me?!” “WOW” “Thank you so much!” – What a wonderful way to begin my day. With much gratitude.

Nana and her Nerves – October 21, 2010

Good morning,

Just want to share the nerves of this Nana who’s first and only granddaughter announced to the world on FB that she is in a relationship. How did she go from a cuddly uncoordinated 13 year old to a gorgeous grownup wearing a strapless dress, heels and makeup? How did she go from a daddy’s girl, hating boys to ‘being in a relationship‘?
I wonder how times have changed. Do they still play hard to get? Do they still play ‘spin the bottle’ and plant their first kiss? OMG That is just to mind boggling to ponder. Focus Jan, Focus!

I had one son and never a daughter..how did you all get through this? I breathe in love and breathe out confidence that she will make good decisions.

Cute? Yes – it is cute! As my mom says, “This too will pass!”

More and more emphasis is put on how we look. So many people are blaming the media! Because, there is so much more publicity now it appears that this issue is bigger than ever and perhaps it is. When I think of the Olympics and those tiny bodies tumbling, jumping, running or skating across the TV screen, I think about the pressure these children have to be perfect. And that leads to teenagers wanting to be perfect and adults wanting to be perfect.

The body requires nourishment – it is your vehicle for life – there is no way to trade it in on a new model and most people seriously take better care of their cars than they do their own body. WHY? Perhaps because it is FREE. It came with birth – just a thought…

So many times we are led to an article, a page, a link or a book because of our awareness. Just today, I stumbled upon a video of Kathy Rigby as Peter Pan. Her tiny frame intrigued me and I researched her. Here is what Wikipedia had to say about her…

In 1981, Rigby starred as Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. During that production, Rigby met her second husband, Tom McCoy. She credits McCoy with enabling her to fight bulimia, a disease which she had lived with since the end of her gymnastics career

During the 1980s, Rigby also began publicly speaking about her experiences with eating disorders. Rigby, who suffered from bulimia for 12 years, in an article she wrote for People Magazine in 1984, said: “I wanted to be perfect in my attitude and in my weight. Inside I was going crazy. I probably consumed 10,000 calories a day or more in fast foods. I can tell you where every McDonald’s and Jack in the Box was along the way (to my voice lessons) — and every bathroom where I could get rid of the food.” ] According to a People Magazine interview in 1991, “twice she was hospitalized and nearly died from electrolyte imbalance.”

YES!! She too struggled with Bulimia. At first I was shocked and then I realized that this is such a private disease – it is like going to the bathroom – also very private – something we do not share with others.

When I met Barbara Niven, a couple of years ago at an Ilearning Global event - she shared her battle with Bulimia – she took it to the next level and made a video about it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q58kyTdFf98
Jane became one of the first Hollywood actresses to break the silence and talk openly about eating disorders and campaigned to raise awareness about anorexia and bulimia.
Sandra Dee: Model and actress Sandra Dee struggled with an eating disorder. “I was anorexic for many years – even before people knew what it was – they didn’t even have a name for it back then.”

“Eating Disorders, whether it be Anorexia or Bulimia, show how an individual can turn the nourishment of the body into a painful attack on themselves and they have at their core a far deeper problem than mere vanity. And sadly, Eating Disorders are on the increase at a disturbing rate, affecting a growing number of men and women and a growing number of children.”
