How about using this book for your next meeting!!

Here is the feedback I received from a District Manager who used it in his meeting!

The workshop went very well. Each team member (some in pairs) covered one “letter” from the book. Great discussion that we wrapped up with your suggestion to brainstorm obstacles facing us this year. Rather than identify the solutions, which there was not enough time for, we are incorporating into an initiative that I am trying out this year to foster innovation.

I have the team divided into groups of 2 or 3 and they are each responsible for 1 of our 3 district priorities this year. Each team’s job is to brainstorm ideas on how to execute against those priorities, over the next month and half and then present 2-3 actionable ideas to the team in March. Then the entire district will decide which ideas we put into action in the 2nd quarter and beyond. Not surprising that the obstacles we discussed fit nicely into at least on District Priority.

As follow up, I am requesting approval from Region Director for voice recorders for each team member so they can record their 6 ideas each day (many of these come while driving and not safe to write them down then!) I will also get them blue index cards or book with blue pages so they can put them on paper every week.

One funny note—when we got to the 4th section, the person who discussed it laughed and said he can see why I assigned the section to him. Everyone else said the same thing—they all thought I assigned sections to them based on their personalities, styles, etc. I shared the truth—I assigned them in the order of their territory numbers, so totally random.

We concluded that no matter what section you read, you can see a little bit of both the Victim and Victor mentality in yourself!!!  J

“Happiness belongs to the VICTOR; this book will show you how to choose Victor as your default position.”
